Jeanette Le Grue was born and raised in Alaska, a land of northern lights and midnight sun. Her interest in art began at an early age beyond the Kenai Peninsular in a small fishing village nestled beneath the majestic wilderness of Kodiak Island.

In 1981 Jeanette moved south from her native Alaska to California. The warmer and more mild climate was all it took to make her passion for painting blossom. She spent her student tenure painting, in oils, with many of today's most renowned artists. Jeanette credits the technique of Russian born artist, Sergi Bongert as having most influenced her impressionistic style of painting, which is both strong in composition and vibrant in color.

Influenced by dramatic contrasts, her work is a celebration of light and long shadows...and just as the Alaskan sun brings froth the Spring in twilight hues -- color, is her favorite season.

Jeanette is a juried artist member of the California Art Club, a member of the American Aritst Professional League, a Signature Member of En Coulour - a group of seven California colorists, and a member of the American Impressionist Society.
