"Earnest
Braun influenced me in the art of abstract soft focus and close-ups of
nature. I enjoy traveling with my camera, always seeking new and
challenging images of natural subjects. It is exhilarating when, at first
light, the colors of dawn begin to spread over the mountain peaks; it can
be clear and crisp, or moody with fog or low clouds. The deep natural
beauty, its peace and solitude, inspired me to creativity." |

Growing up in rural
East coast surroundings, Susan photographed whatever natural subject
caught her eye. Subsequent studies under the renowned Ernest Braun
prepared her as a professional photographer whose images have been
published in Audubon, National Wildlife Federation calendars, and many
other publications and local brochures.
Susan sells prints of
her art work and has exhibited her work from time to time, most recently
at the Civic Center in San Rafael, Ca in a show called Celebrating
Nature. She has exhibited at the William
Lester Gallery since 1997.
