Bart Walker's radiant
plein air paintings are reminiscent of early California landscapes, alive
with deft brushwork and soft nuances of light. Hi is accepted by his peers and
his numerous collectors as a magician of light and tone.
Bart lives in Tetonia,
Idaho and he travels extensively with his easel and paints, capturing the
fleeting nuances of light in the landscape. His style is realistic in the
tradition of the early California Impressionist painters, carrying on their
legacy of preserving the beauty of the nature through oil painting.
Bart
is a native of Birmingham, Alabama, and has been greatly influenced by his
father, who worked in watercolor, and his older brother, an accomplished
draughtsman and oil painter. Bart explains the first steps of his painting
career: "Standing behind my brother on the shores of String Lake in Teton
National Park, I was amazed at how easily he captured the scene. I thought to
myself, I can do that. But after several efforts, I soon realized the
difficult path I had chosen; thus began my long journey into painting."
Bart’s paintings are included in collections in the United States and abroad
and he has exhibited widely.
