The 6th Annual Point
Reyes Plein Air
will take place
May 30th - June 1st, 2008
20 of
California's finest plein air artists will gather at their
favorite painting locales in and around Point Reyes for our
annual Paintout. A "paintout" is a gathering of artists
who paint in specific locations for a specific period of time -
and welcome the public to watch. On Friday and Saturday,
artists will be painting at the location of their choice.
On Sunday, they will paint in picturesque, historic Point Reyes
Station, where art lovers can wander from easel to easel.
The "wet paintings will be hung for display at the gallery as
soon as they are finished. Artists and visitors alike will
gather for a reception from
5 to 7 pm.
Visitors vote and awards are given. It's fun
for everyone. Artists love to paint with each other in a
spirit of camaraderie and friendly competition. Art lovers
have a chance to watch paintings being created.
